Background
Hey, my name is Crystal. I'm a software engineer. I discovered my joy for web development at an early age, crafting websites, building web-based games, and even finding clever ways to get free domains and web hosting. Through the years, I've worked as a freelance web developer for a variety of clients, from small businesses to large-scale enterprises, helping them build and maintain their websites.I find myself increasingly driven to build fun & playful things, first and foremost.
Although my roots are in front-end development, I work across the stack (I recently built an Open Source microservice monitoring tool for large-scale distributed systems. I also gave a talk a couple months ago on web proxies).
I love working on exciting, intellectually rigorous, socially impactful projects with equally passionate people and always welcome invitations for collaboration. When I'm not coding, you can find me residing in Seattle, WA with my lovebird, Starburst (who, despite the name, is full of bitterness and spite. Bless her heart.). I enjoy traveling, thrifting, collecting records and vintage Lisa Frank items, playing videogames (poorly), doing CrossFit (also poorly), pursuing good eats around Pike Place Market, and drinking peaty Islay Scotch whiskies.
