HEPA filtering can trap 99.97 percent of dust particles that are 0.3 microns in diameter. For a comparison, a typical human hair strand is roughly 50–150 microns in diameter, so a HEPA filter is trapping dust several hundred times thinner.

PECO (Photo Electrochemical Oxidation) filters pollutants down to 0.1 microns

PECO filtering removes particles as small as 0.1 nm with the destruction of organic matter otherwise not trapped by a traditional HEPA filters. PECO filtration also destroys volatile organic compounds.
